Car Rental Terms

GENERAL RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

CARS

  1. AGE REQUIREMENTS: For standard cars the minimum age required to rent is 23 years, and the maximum age is 75 years. For cabriolet and jeep categories the minimum age is 24 years, and the maximum age is 75 years.
  2. DRIVER`S LICENCE: A valid driver`s licence held for at least one year is required.
  3. MINIMUM RENTAL: Three days. Every hour in excess of the agreed rental period will be calculated at 1/5 of the daily rate.
  4. METHOD OF PAYMENT: The charge is payable in full at the beginning of the rental period. Cash, credit cards and debit cards are accepted.
  5. DEPOSIT: A deposit of 200 euros is required and will be blocked from a credit or debit card on delivery of the car, and will be refunded when the car is returned in acceptable condition. If a credit or debit card is not available, the deposit can be paid in cash..
  6. TRAFFIC FINES: Fines, including parking tickets, and attached administrative sanctions resulting from any violations of Greek Traffic laws during the rental period are borne by the renter.
  7. TAXES: All prices are inclusive of 24% VAT as required by Greek law. If the Greek government increases the VAT, or imposes any additional taxes on car hire, the extra charge will be passed on to the renter.
  8. FUEL: Fuel consumption is payable by the renter. Vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel as they had when rented. If this is not the case, the renter will be charged for all litres missing at the going rate, along with an extra one euro per litre.
  9. MILEAGE: The mileage is unlimited.
  10. INSURANCE: All authorised drivers are covered against fire, theft and third party liability for death, injury or damage to property. The interior of the car is not covered as this is considered vandalism. The vehicle is not insured if used on substandard roads and the underside of the car is damaged. Damages to tyres, the windscreen, windows, mirrors and  lights  are not covered by the basic insurance, but  these are covered by the premium insurance. The renter is responsible for any additional items accompanying the vehicle (spare tyre, keys, radio,  jack, tools,  petrol cap). All insurance becomes invalid if the renter is under the influence of illegal substances (drugs and alcohol).
  11. CDW: The renter is responsible for the first 700 euros The renter can obtain further collision protection for an extra   15 euros  per day which will result in 200 euros  excess payable. Fines resulting from violations of the Greek Traffic code are not covered by CDW.
  12. ACCIDENTS: In case of accident, the renter is obliged to immediately inform the rental company. The collection of all documentary evidence (proof) in connection with the accident is also the responsibility of the renter.
  13. IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE USED: a) as transportation for heavy items, b) as transportation for more people beyond its licence, c) to hire out, to tow or to take part in any car race (motor race), d) to transport inflammable materials or drugs, e) to commit illegal crimes and f) to drive off road (unless a jeep has been rented).
  14. The renter is obliged to return the vehicle to the exact location and time  specified in the agreement between both parties. An employee must be present and any surcharges must be paid at this time. The abandonment of the vehicle will result in the renter being responsible for additional charges and any damage. The company reserves the right to take back the vehicle at any time if the renter abuses the vehicle or rental conditions. In this case no refund will be given.
  15. BABY SEATS: These are available at a charge of 3 euros per day, and booster seats at 2 euros per day.
  16. ADDITIONAL DRIVERS: It is forbidden to give the car to others to use. Only the driver specified in the agreement can drive the car. If an additional driver is required this must be arranged with the rental company and a charge of 2 euros per person per day will be levied.
  17. DELIVERY AND COLLECTION: There is no charge within business hours (08.00 – 22.00). Outside of business hours there is a charge of 15 euros payable locally. Exceptions are Volimes, Kampi and Skinari where there is an additional delivery charge of 25 euros each way.

  19. FERRY: Advanced written authorisation is required to transport the vehicle by ferry.
  20. The vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition. The renter must verify this upon collection.
  21. SPEED LIMIT: By law the maximum speed limit allowed on Zakynthos island is 50 kms per hour .
  22. The lessor reserves the right to upgrade the vehicle.
  23.  We reserve the right to refuse any booking.
  24. We reserve the right to rectify a reservation amount if there has been a technical issue with the pricing.
  25. We reserve the right to change the vehicle that has been booked to a different make and model in the same category, or to a vehicle in a higher category.
